Soothing Herbal Tea Remedy
A cup of herbal tea when you’re feeling under the weather makes everything seem better.
Which began my quest for a great cup of herbal tea.
I found this recipe for a soothing homemade tea to combat the cold and flu on Chatelaine.
The choice of ingredients makes this herbal tea sooth and comfort; as well as lessen the cold and flu symptoms and decrease the duration.
Here is the breakdown on the ingredients –
Lemon: Full of vitamin C which can help reduce the duration and severity of symptoms if you already have a cold.
Cinnamon: Antioxidant spice which adds a warming flavor.
Ginger: Used for centuries to relieve a sore throat and loosen up congestion due to a cold. Best known for its ability to calm an upset stomach. Ginger can also treat vomit and nausea.
Cloves: Make it easier to cough up and eliminate phlegm.
Turmeric: One of the most effective anti-inflammatory around and also relieves gastrointestinal discomfort.
Cayenne: Helps with stomach problems and poor appetite.
Honey: Has small amounts of vitamin C and folate; can also soothes and calms sore throat.
