Kids Thanksgiving Table
Everyone WANTS to sit at THIS Kids Thanksgiving Table.
That’s what I decided I was going to have at my own house when I grew up.
See, when I was a kid, being banned to the ‘kids table’ was not a good thing in the eye’s of every kid I knew.
The setting was uninteresting and generally considered a punishment.
It also meant my sisters and I would annoy each other out of nothing to do, fidgeting, while smelling the delicious aromas coming from the much anticipated food.
So when I became a mom, and now a grandma, I created Everyone Wants to sit at THIS Kids Thanksgiving Table
A table that everyone WANTED to sit at.
Because there are:
- Treats just for them
- Things to keep the kiddos busy so they weren’t bored
- Best of all, they are entertained, meaning YOU get to enjoy the day too!
I have lots of ideas you can choose from such as the Indian Head Dress, the Pilgrim Cups, a Thanksgiving Wreath, or make all of them available! Links for these are in the post below.
A wonderful addition to your Thanksgiving would also be to learn about Squanto and his important role in Thanksgiving.
I have a link HERE that gives the full story
This link HERE is for Squanto’s story as part of the Family Time Series
And HERE is for the Family Time Lesson

Everyone Wants to sit at THIS Kids Thanksgiving Table
I had some kids color-in place mats created just for YOU to have on the table with some crayons to keep little hands busy.
- You can have your copy center print these place-mats larger, or print regular size at home or copy center – your choice.

My handsome hubby Stan made that very cool rope swag hanging from the fireplace (I have to brag it looks so awesome) to hang the different crafts from.
If you’d like to make your own, this is what we did:
- We looped grosgrain ribbon from the rope
- Then decorated the clothes pins with stick-on foam shapes.
- After that it was simple to clip on the items to the ribbon.
I didn’t want it a ‘free-for-all’ causing the pieces and crafts to be a jumbled chaos and mess.
This way, the older kids, or the adults can give the younger kids one activity at a time.
On the table:
1- Each kiddo gets a NICE CRAFT SACK with HANDLES
2- picture for them to color if you want to print one off
3- or give them awesome stickers like:
Or check out these vintage style stickers, they would be great too.
4- Anything the kids can use to decorate the sack to make it their own would be really fun.
The purpose of the sack is, that it gives them a place to keep their crafts and things.
That way, when it’s time to go home, everything is all together and everyone is happy:)
Here is a view of the kids table with a place mat.
Did you access that place mat here?
- I tied the plastic fork and spoon to the napkin like the one with this HARVEST PLATE AND NAPKIN SET using a piece of twine
- Set out a Plastic cup WITH a LID (if you haven’t used these with kiddos you are missing out! They will save your sanity)
Don’t forget the straws:) I really like these individually wrapped straws to keep on hand, and they work great with these cups.
How great are the awesome Pilgrim Cups HERE!
They are fun to make and can be filled with munchies for the kids or chocolate treats for the adults as a take home gift!
I filled them with:
2- colored pencils
3- Goldfish Crackers
3- mini pretzels
4- and healthy munchies for the kiddos to snack on while waiting for the main meal.
This Indian Head Dress is fun to make.

Giving the children a place ‘all their own’ with fun things to do, makes the holiday, or any day, more special and meaningful for them.
It brings a stronger bond and relationship withing the entire family and definitely makes the day more relaxing for you since the small ones are entertained.
