Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters

My sister Jody and I have made these for years. They are quick, inexpensive, stretch the budget, and make a wonderful gift. Before the chocolate sets up you can top with holiday themed or colored sprinkles for a real festive touch.

Chocolate Nut Clusters

 Ingredients:

12 oz. Candy Melts (Wilton) OR chocolate chips OR bark – dark, milk or white chocolate

12-14 oz. nuts of your choice Sprinkles if desired

Directions:

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paperChocolate Covered Nut Clusters 2Heat chocolate in a microwaveable safe bowl at 20 second intervals; stirring well to prevent burning. Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters 3

Continue this process until the chocolate is completely smooth and it is the temperature of a baby bath so that when you add the nuts it will not cool down before you are able to make the clusters.Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters 5Add in your desired amount of nuts, but be sure to allow enough chocolate to cover the nuts completely.Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters 4Stir well.Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters 6Form clusters by filling a teaspoon and push off with the back of another teaspoon.Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters 7If the chocolate happens to begin to harden up by cooling quicker than the clusters are formed, simply put the bowl in the microwave and heat for a few seconds, stir, repeat until warm as a baby bath.

Continue forming clusters. Chocolate Covered Nut Clusters 8Allow the candy set up and store in a covered container.

These are one of my biggest weaknesses! Thanks for showing me how to make them. I may just make up a batch for my out of town family to enjoy! I’m sure some will break in the process and I’ll just have to eat them.
