Angel Sauce/Dip
Have you ever wondered what Angels request for dessert? This is it! Well, I think they love it anyway.
This dip or sauce, is superb to serve with fruit because it is not overpowering and has just the balance of sweet. It doesn’t mask the taste of the fruit, but compliments it, just right!
It would be an elegant sauce over pound cake to go with fruit also. Your imagination will take this sauce beyond the clouds in ways you can use this delicate and delicious dip.

Angel Sauce/Dip
Ingredients:
1/2 cups real butter (1 stick)
1 Tbl. light Karo syrup
1 cup sugar (granulated)
1/2 cup buttermilk
Cut up fruit, to your preference Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a large pot (you do need a large one, trust me) and bring to a boil STIRRING CONSTANTLY.
When it comes to a full boil cook for 2 full minutes, still STIRRING CONSTANTLY. Turn off the heat BUT leave the pot on the burner and add: 1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda. This will foam up (which is why the need for a large pot).
Stir until the soda and vanilla are evenly distributed.
This is best served immediately and we loved it with fresh fruit.
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and warm a few seconds in the microwave before serving.

Carrie,
I know this sauce would be amazing! My favorite pie is a Southern Buttermilk Pie. It is made with butter, sugar, and buttermilk mainly which is the same ingredients in your sauce. I would just drink this sauce and forget the fruit!
Blessings,
Diane Roark
