Sometimes the celebrations bring on all the sweets and treats. But I have the perfect, economical, filling, quick and portable take-anywhere-food for the festivities!
It screams Red, White and Blue so your taste buds can celebrate with fireworks too.
Heat the chili up hot, pour into a thermos to serve up at any party, picnic, parade with friends and family.
Blue Corn Tortialla chips
Chili – canned or my very simple flavorful and hearty recipe that follows
Condiments – chopped tomato, sliced green onion, grated cheese, sour cream, sliced olives, etc.
2 large cans of chili
14 oz. can Salsa Style diced fired roasted diced tomatoes (gives flavor and a bit of a kick, but not too much, or whatever flavor you prefer)
1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
Heat through. Directions:
Lay down chips, spoon on some chili, then top with your favorite condiments and presto, it’s the almost as good as the Eighteen Twelve Overture with Cannon – a staple at our local fireworks show:)
