The Kids Table Everyone Wants To Sit At

Kids Thanksgiving TableWhen I was a kid, being banned to the ‘kids table’ was not a good thing in my opinion, and everyone I knew.

It was uninteresting and a punishment. It also meant my sisters and I would annoy each other out of nothing to do, fidgeting, while smelling the delicious aromas coming from the much anticipated food.

I decided when I became a mom, and now a grandma, that I wanted a FUN Kids table!

A table that everyone WANTED to sit at.  Crafts, activities and things to keep the kiddos busy so they weren’t bored, could enjoy the day, AND they would be so entertained that they would allow the adults to visit:)

Come see all the great ideas you can choose from, or do them all!

Everyone Wants to sit at THIS Kids Thanksgiving Table!

These  KIDS THANKSGIVING PLACE-MATS were created just for YOU to have on the table with some crayons are a great place to start to keep little hands busy.

  • You can have your copy center print these place-mats larger, or print regular size at home or copy center – your choice.

My handsome hubby Stan made that very cool rope swag hanging from the fireplace (I have to brag it looks so awesome) to hang the different crafts from.

We looped grosgrain ribbon from the rope and then decorated the clothes pins with stick-on foam shapes.

After that it was simple to clip on the items to the ribbon.

I didn’t want it a ‘free-for-all’ causing the pieces and crafts to be a jumbled chaos and mess. This way, the older kids, or the adults can give the younger kids one activity at a time.

*You can also put clipped items in a basket for ease

This JUTE would work terrific, just watch the weight and the number of items you can hang for the location you are working with.

Each kiddo gets a NICE CRAFT SACK with HANDLES

You can include a picture for them to color if you want to print one off,or give them these awesome type of stickers  or check out these vintage style stickers, they would be great too.  Anything the kids can use to decorate the sack to make it their own would be really fun.

The purpose of the sack gives them a place to keep their crafts and things, so when it’s time to go home, it’s all together and everyone is happy:)Kids Thanksgiving Table 3

Here is a view of the kids table with a place mat, I tied the plastic fork and spoon to the napkin like the one with this HARVEST PLATE AND NAPKIN SET  with a piece of twine and set out a Plastic cup WITH a LID (if you haven’t used these with kiddos you are missing out! They will save your sanity) don’t forget the straws:) I really like these individually wrapped straws to keep on hand, and they work great with these cups.

Pilgrim Cups

How great are these Pilgrim Cups!  They can be filled with anything your heart desires from crayons, colored pencils, Goldfish Crackers, mini pretzels and healthy munchies for the kiddos to snack on while waiting for the main meal.

This Indian Head Dress is not only fun to make but a great teaching tool to help kids understand the importance the American Indians played in saving the Pilgrims lives. The instructions are HEREIndian Head Dress

Giving the children a place ‘all their own’ makes the holiday, or any day, more special for them and relaxing for you!
