St Patrick’s PB&J

I don’t think there is a lick of Irish in our family line, but this is one of our family’s favorite holidays. Looking for food and fun ideas?  I’ve got it here for you and it’s easy, simple and quick! This will soon become one of your family fun memories too. I also have fabulous desserts and treats to share with friends and family that will make them smile like they found a Pot Of Gold:)

St. Patrick’s Day is a day I tried to make special – just because!

When the kids were young they made Leprechaun traps that were silly, but serious business to them. The ‘Leprechaun’ was always prepared with a treat and a note of Sorry, they didn’t catch him this year and better luck next time. It was MUST that there is a Treasure Hunt.

  •       It was low key with Leprechaun footprints to lead to the prize when the kids were young.
  •      As they got older I had treasure hunt clues leading to places around the house.
  •      When a bit older (yes as teens and even young adults they wanted it), I contacted neighbors for their permission to leave clues in their mailbox, on their porch, or a chair in their yard; with a clue for the hunt.

Green candy, gold chocolate coins were a constant prize of the treasure.   Food for the day was a celebration and was based on how busy I was, and their time due to sports and extracurricular activities

Do you feel you want to change and be a better person, but not sure how?

Do you want to learn what's meaningful and lasting, but not sure where to go?

That is what A Mother's Shadow is ABOUT

We are learning constantly. One of the most blessed parts of being a human, is that we have agency and choice to LEARN and improve in every aspect of our life. The fact that we are able to take on a challenge, LEARN how to conquer it, and then PRACTICE until we BECOME a better person, gives us astonishing potential!

The greatest lie ever told is that we cannot change and become a better person.

We can LEARN new traits and skills if we are willing to put in the effort.  It may be more difficult than we imagined; but we can improve our situation and circumstances if we are willing to fail..get up and try again. Success only comes through growth. With PRACTICE, we can overcome the obstacles to claim the sweet victory of achievement and BECOME better.  Now we have more to offer others in service, help and benefit!

The calm and sweet feeling of satisfaction, the joy of accomplishment, the contentment of knowing we are making right and correct decisions; while setting an honorable example for our family now, and those to come. As we work together, determined to fulfill our divine potential, we will be BECOME more than we ever imagined!

ABOUT – WHY ‘A SHADOW’?

About Why 'A Shadow'?

How do people see you?  Do they want to be like you?  Do they trust you to lead them in a GOOD life?

The concept of a shadow is fascinating, and there are different definitions to this captivating idea.

A shadow can be a comfort or scary.

Let's begin with the frightening definition first:  Remember as a child; being afraid of the dark? The shadows looming in the corners or under the bed threatened to almost smother and engulf you in fear? This shadow, if it were a person, doesn’t give a sense of moral direction, or teach you how to fight the battles with integrity, courage and is not a trusted source to turn to in times of trouble. This shadow projects counterfeit happiness, lies and goes with whatever is popular opinion or their needs over what's right.

The respectable shadow is a person you know is not perfect, but is trying to do their best to live a moral and honorable life. They persevere through difficult times, never compromising their moral standards even when it would be so much easier to do so; particularly in public arenas. You can trust their word, they have integrity and strive tenaciously to do what is right; which qualities are valued above all treasures.

The question is: What kind of SHADOW are YOU choosing to be?

Do we give reason for distrust or fear to our loved ones OR do we give peace and comfort?

How will our posterity feel about our legacy?

It is never too late to change our SHADOW, that is the blessing of being here on this earth!

At A Mother’s Shadow: we LEARN, we PRACTICE and we BECOME better

A little more every day to BE and leave a worthy SHADOW.
